The South Beach diet program is one of the most widely used methods of losing weight today. It is based around diet and lifestyle changes that help you achieve realistic weight loss goals. There are three stages in the South Beach diet plan. During phase one, dieters cannot eat any carbs except for vegetables. Although multiple foods are banned, dieters still have a variety of foods they can eat. Stage one is the most demanding phase, but also the quickest since it only goes on for two weeks. Dieters are expected to lose approximately ten pounds during this period. In phase two, dieters begin adding the previously banned carb-rich foods into their meals. Dieters are expected to lose a couple pounds per week while steadily increasing the volume of carbs in their diet. Phase two lasts until dieters attain their desired weight. The third phase is the maintenance phase. Dieters use their strategies from phase two to maintain their ideal weight throughout the rest of their lives. If dieters start to gain weight, they are able to go back to phase one of the diet. You've probably seen pre-packaged South Beach snacks and meals sold in stores. These foods are handy, but you don't need to buy them in order to be on the diet. You only need to follow the different general guidelines for each phase of the plan. During phase one of the diet, you can consume lean cuts of meat, such as fish, chicken, and turkey, eggs, nuts, most vegetables, and a limited quantity of nonfat dairy. Fruits and their juices are not consumed during this phase because they are high in sugar. Also restricted are all carbs, fatty meats, alcoholic beverages, and a few vegetables that are rather high in sugar or carbohydrate content, such as carrots. The point of this phase is to cut "bad" carbs from your diet and initiate the weight loss process. During the second phase, dieters gradually reintroduce whole grains, fruit, and other formerly prohibited foods into their diet. In the process, dieters discover how to balance their eating habits to maintain a desirable weight. Once this is successfully completed, the diet switches into the lifetime maintenance phase, in which dieters try to maintain the healthy habits that brought them to their goal weight. The key to success with the South Beach diet program is committing to eating healthy. Although that appears simple, this diet program and most other diet programs fail because dieters give up before the plan can produce results. The problems that most men and women have with weight loss often come from deeper issues such as a lack of impetus to lose weight, a tendency to binge on food, or out-of-control appetite. Using an NLP tool known as Submodalities, we can lead the dieter into thinking that if he or she fails to lose weight, the kids will be condemned to follow the parent's lead and they will be fat and dissatisfied. This idea will give a strong urge and feeling to stay on the diet and take the weight off. Other NLP techniques can help to lessen or even completely remove the impulses and cravings that compel one to overeat. This works very well to help dieters stay on the first and most difficult weeks of the South Beach diet. Additionally, it helps dieters commit to a physical activity program, which will increase the efficacy of any diet. Stress is a problem that frequently drives people to eat too much or quit caring about their well-being, but stress-relief can be provided by both NLP and hypnotic techniques.
