Headache And Migraine Liberation Through NLP And Hypnosis By: Alan B. Densky, CH
Even though the brain itself is insensitive to pain, many areas of the head such as the scalp, face, mouth and throat have nerve fibers that are sensitive to pain and which can ache. Headache - or cephalgia - commonly refers to any type of pain that would appear in one or several of these sensitive areas of the head. Headaches can be classified into two groups: Primary headaches, such as stress headache, cluster headache and migraine headache, which are not due to any disease; And Secondary headaches which are caused by a disease. Headaches are the most usual condition of the nervous system. Everyone will be affected by them at least once in their lifetime, but for 55 million Americans, it is an everyday thing. The World Health Organization claims that one adult in 20 suffers from frequent headaches, with women being more exposed than males. Headaches can be severely disabling and might very negatively affect the people who experience them. Work capacity is lessened for those people, which may also be detrimental to their economic situation. The ability to socialize is also reduced as the pain, or the fear thereof, may make people more irascible. People who suffer from migraine may even have to constantly be careful about everything they eat, everything they see, and even everything they smell, as some strong or unpleasant sensations may be hurtful. Since headaches are seen as such a banal, minor condition, people who suffer from them on a regular basis also have to deal with the incomprehension of their peers. This social barrier may also deter people from trying to get the attention of a doctor and looking for a proper treatment. However before being treated, your headache needs to be "identified". We have already seen that there were two main kinds of headache: Primary and Secondary, each subdivided into several other subtypes. Their symptoms may change as well as their causes and, obviously, the way they can be treated. That is why they have to be identified by a specialist so that you can receive appropriate treatment. Stress headache, also referred to as tension headache, is the most common sort of primary headache and is the cause for approximately ninety percent of headaches. It is traditionally considered related to stress or related to musculoskeletal problems in the area of the neck. Tension headache is in almost all cases episodic and may persist from a few minutes to a few hours, but can sometimes persist for many days in the most acute cases. It is usually described as a strong steady pressure, usually on both sides of the head, or spreading around it, occasionally also affecting the neck. Migraine is relatively different and is reckoned to almost certainly have a genetic origin. Migraines occur when the brain releases painful substances, that spread to the nerves and vessels of the head. Migraine generally happens once a month and lasts for a few hours, with corollary symptoms such as nausea and intolerance of regular degrees of light and sound. Cluster headaches often occur frequently and are short lasting. They are also very painful. They happen in clusters of 6 to 12 weeks every one or two years, usually at the same period of the year. The pain is incredibly bad and affects the whole head, generally beginning in the eye, and then spreading to the forehead, nose and mouth. It is much more uncommon than some other kinds of headache and usually affects men. Headaches are usually cured using over-the-counter pain medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen or paracetamol. A doctor may also advise to avoid some typical causes of headaches such as noise or some sorts of foods. Caffeine, Magnesium and Vitamin B2 have also proven effective in order to treat migraine. Drugs however are costly and can have negative side effects, especially for people who have to take them on a regular basis. That is why you may want to consider another way of preventing and fighting the numerous kinds of headache. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnosis were indeed shown to be working and can help you to release pain in any part of your body, including your head, as well as becoming more relaxed meanwhile. Stress is a very common cause of headache, and specific hypnotic methods exist to release both stress and headaches quickly. People who suffer from migraine or cluster headache are generally able to feel the first symptoms before the migraine really occurs, and may learn self-hypnosis techniques to get rid of them before they hurt too much. Therapists who understand how disabling a headache can be have designed these therapeutic methods. Hypnotherapy is a drug free method of treatment that will help you find the liberation you have been looking for. Headache is a serious affliction with several forms, concerning millions of people worldwide. Learn to overcome it and to relax with the appeasing method of self hypnosis.
